Below are some common terms you will see when navigating your program:
SUPERSET = Performing two exercises in succession without resting. This could be Push Ups supersetted with Pull Ups. In this case immediately following the Push Ups, you would be required to start doing Pull Ups without pausing or taking a break.
RPE = Rate of Perceived Exertion: On a scale of 1-10, how difficult was the exercise? 10 should represent maximum effort possible. Generally, RPE 6 or less is considered a warm up or very minimal effort. You will find this in the instructions below a prescribed exercise.
For example, RPE 8 would represent about 80% effort was used.
RIR = Reps In Reserve: How many more repetitions could you perform if using RPE 10. When completing your exercises in TrueCoach, please indicate your RIR for each set.
EQUIPMENT: Although no equipment is essential to being fit and healthy, here is a short list of items that will vastly expand our library of exercises.
1. Pull up bar. If you are doing at-home workouts strictly, I highly recommend buying a pull up bar that locks into a door frame. Often times these are found at Canadian Tire and Walmart.
2. Kettlebell(s).
3. Swiss Ball.
4. Step Up.
